Torrox is 35 minutes drive east of Malaga. It is 10 minutes drive from the well known resort of Nerja, a lovely busy Spanish resort with a large English-speaking community. Torrox has – and its official – the best climate in Europe.
Torrox is divided between the hills and the sea. The village in the hills (where Casa Torrox is situated) is known as Torrox Pueblo. Down at the sea you will find Torrox Costa – which boasts a fantastic sandy beach with promenade (Playa Ferrara)..
Torrox Pueblo is simply fabulous. It is the quintessential Andalucian whitewashed village. It is very Spanish and very local – reflected in the pace of life as well as the cost of living. A glass of wine and a beer will cost you 2 euros. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine will be around 25 – 30 euros. Life revolves around the village square which has four bar /restaurants under the shade of the orange trees.
Torrox Costa is 5 minutes drive. The beach here is fabulous. Laid out with plenty of sunloungers with thick, squidgy mattresses it also boasts a 1km long promenade with bars and restaurants serving freshly cooked sardines, snacks and full meals.
