One of our absolute favourites in Skibbereen, Kalbos Cafe is known for its fresh, flavour-packed food and warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a strong focus on sustainability and seasonal ingredients, their menu is always evolving — so there’s usually something new and exciting to try.

You can relax and eat in, grab a delicious takeaway, or pick up one of their prepared dishes to cook later at home — perfect for an easy supper back at the cottage. Thoughtful, creative and consistently delicious, Kalbos is a real gem in West Cork.

O’Neill Coffee shop

One of the loveliest little cafés in Skibbereen, O’Neill Coffee is a warm and welcoming speciality coffee shop set in a historic former grocery on Townshend Street. Here you’ll find expertly brewed coffee made with locally roasted beans, served alongside a tempting selection of sweet and savoury treats — from freshly baked cakes to hearty pastries.

One of our favourite places to start the day (or grab an afternoon pick-me-up) in Skibbereen is Brew, a vibrant specialty coffee shop right on Bridge Street. Set in a bright, welcoming space with comfy seating and friendly service, Brew is all about great coffee made with care — small-batch roasts and expertly pulled espresso drinks that locals and visitors love.

Baby Hannah’s Pub and Restaurant

Baby Hannah’s is a lively and welcoming traditional Irish pub and restaurant right on Bridge Street in Skibbereen. Re-opened with a fresh look but plenty of old-world charm, it’s a favourite spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy good food, cold pints and a warm atmosphere.

The Tanyard Pub

A must-visit spot in Skibbereen for a relaxed drink or a fun evening out, The Tanyard has quickly become one of the town’s favourite pubs. Known for its warm, friendly atmosphere, great selection of whiskeys, gins, craft beers and cocktails, and welcoming staff, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring West Cork.
