River Lodge 2 is one of three newly completed luxury eco-lodges, beautifully positioned overlooking the River Ilen and just a short walk from the centre of Skibbereen.

Designed with eco-tourism at its heart, River Lodge 2 represents a pioneering approach in Ireland – seamlessly combining contemporary luxury with a responsible, environmentally conscious ethos, so you can relax in comfort while treading lightly on the planet.

Helping the Environment

These eco-lodges are designed to deliver luxury with a lighter footprint:

  • Living sedum green roof, removing approx. 300kg of CO₂ from the atmosphere each year
  • Heated by a low-energy heat pump
  • Super-insulated for warmth, efficiency, and peace and quiet
  • Clad in sustainable burnt larch timber
  • Low-energy LED lighting throughout
  • Energy-efficient hot tubs using just 950W/hr (compared to 6000W/hr for standard acrylic tubs)
  • 60 trees planted on site to further offset CO₂

Outside

  • Direct, exclusive access from the lodge to the riverside walk leading to Skibbereen (10-15 minute walk)
  • West-facing decks with views of the River Ilen (views may be partially screened when trees are in full bloom)

Myself and my partner are just back from a weekend in River Lodge 2 and I highly recommend to all 🙌 the Lodge was stunning and had everything you’d need! Beautiful and modern interiors and the hot tub was amazing. We were only a 10 minute walk into Skibbereen town too so we enjoyed a few local pubs. We’ll definitely be back and will check out some of the other cottages they offer for our next weekend away! 10/10.

Beautiful 2 night getaway only a 10-15 minute walk to the town.
They had left milk in the fridge for us and a bottle of Prosecco upon arrival. The lodge was lovely and clean and had a great kitchen.

We had the pleasure of staying in River Lodge 2, and the experience was truly exceptional. The lodge was immaculately presented, super cosy, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The hot tub was incredibly comfortable, and the bottle of Prosecco awaiting us on arrival was a lovely and much-appreciated touch.

Check in is after 4pm and Check out is 11am!

It’s for adults only. You must be 18 years of age to stay with us.

The nearest town is Skibbereen, which is just a 5 minute drive from The Treehouses, Barn, and Courtyard Cottage 1 & 2. Newbridge Cottage and River Lodge 1, 2 & 3 are even closer as they are within walking distance along the riverside walk to town.
