Irish Island Explorations

Nic-SlocumSpend a day on Cape Clear Island with your local guide. Ireland’s most southerly community and part of the Gaeltacht. Spending 45 minutes travelling out to North Harbour visitors will experience the raw natural beauty of Roaringwater Bay and Carbery’s Hundred Isles. With views to the west over the Calf Islands to the Mizen Head;  to the south may be seen the iconic Fastnet Rock and Lighthouse standing sentinel over the western apporaches to The Celtic Sea. Once on the island you will walk out to The Bill of Clear, Ireland’s most southerly point, passing the old O’Driscoll castle of Dún an Óir. Returning for a soup n’sandwiches lunch at Sean Ruas Restaurant looking over North Harbour. After lunch you will walk to the top of South Point to look over South Harbour and Baltimore Bay with a good chance of spotting whales or dolphins. Returning to North Harbour in time for a refreshing cuppa before making the boat journey back to Baltimore. Guide, lunch, refreshments, transfers all included.
